Actor Imeda Kakhiani says that Georgian actors and actresses going to Russia to hold performances do protect their country.

''What can we, actors do to protect our country and fight against Russians? To go there and show them that we are not the nation to be oppressed, and we are not worse than anybody is our obligation.

If they allowed me, I would visit Moscow with great pleasure, and even if five men applauded me, it would mean something. This is our tool; we have no other tool but this,'' the actor declared.

Shota Rustaveli theatre ensemble led by Robert Sturua will participate in Chekov's festival in Moscow.

Robert Sturua has already left Georgia for Russia.
