Georgian doctors and biologists will undergo training in Rome's Bambino Gesù hospital (Baby Jesus Paediatric Hospital).

The Administration of the President of Georgia says that the Vatican will assist Georgia in making rare diagnoses in children by providing its doctors with the required information.

The Georgian president signed the corresponding agreement within the framework of her first official visit to the Vatican today.

The President said that she was at Bambino Gesù hospital, which is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, and also visited its world-famous laboratory working on rare diseases in children.

According to Mrs. Zurabishvili, they showed readiness to cooperate with Georgia, starting with training Georgian doctors and nurses.

''The director of the hospital will visit Georgia, and we will sign the memorandum. We have already agreed upon this. This is good news, and I am immensely delighted,'' she said.

The Georgian President inspected several laboratories in Rome involved in research and diagnostic activities.

Salome Zurabishvili has invited Bambino Gesù President Mariella Enoc to Georgia.
