Georgian health official: 'I find it hard to hold back my emotions'

''People have been provided with all required conditions to receive coronavirus vaccines, but the number of daily vaccinations ranges between four and six thousand only. Anti-vaxxers cannot have so much support in the country,'' Tengiz Tsertsvadze, the Director-General of Infectious Diseases, AIDS and Clinical Immunology Research Center, said.

In Tsertsvadze's words, the country's low vaccination rate has resulted in high death numbers.

According to him, Georgia has enough resources for 40 or 50 thousand citizens to get vaccinated daily.

''I am trying not to be emotional, but I find it hard to hold back my emotions when I come to think of it. Something unexplainable is happening in here. Georgia is one of the leading countries with its daily coronavirus cases, but ... the number of vaccinated people ranges between four and six thousand daily,'' Tsertsvadze declared.
