Director-General of Infectious Diseases, AIDS and Clinical Immunology Research Center, Tengiz Tsertsvadze, said that an increase in deaths could be detected after coronavirus peak. In his words, late hospitalization and low vaccination rate also play their part.

''The third coronavirus wave which hit us a month ago is a cause of increased cases in deaths. A surge in deaths follows the peak after around three or four weeks. After about this time period, seriously ill patients placed at ICU units die. This is the first cause, with the second being late hospitalizations,'' he said, adding that the third cause of growing deaths is the low vaccination rate.
