Georgian health official: 'We are all concerned, people are creating doomsday conditions'

Director-General of Infectious Diseases, AIDS and Clinical Immunology Research Center of Georgia, Tengiz Tsertsvadze, says that a substantial reduction in the COVID-19 vaccination rate is concerning.

In Tsertsvadze's words, the public has turned its back on vaccination. He also added that anyone who refuses to get vaccinated poses a great risk to their loved ones.

''Vaccination is the most topical issue today. We are all concerned. After the vaccination rate increased for a short time and we hoped to beat the pandemic and avoid its fifth wave, the number of vaccinated people has dropped lately.

The number of people getting the first dose has reduced catastrophically. This is a disaster for the country. People are creating doomsday conditions,'' he declared.
