"Today is a happy day for the Georgian people! The right to electing leaders in fair elections is a basis of true democracy," U.S. Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan, who will coordinate the groups of embassy's observers in today's elections, said.
"The USA actively supports these elections and has a great desire that everything goes well at the elections; however, the Georgian government and the people are those who can ensure the completion of successful elections in Georgia. Georgian people must have their voices heard in these elections, and this is what is crucial," the ambassador said.
Ambassador Degnan will visit electoral precincts, meet with different officials, and talk with representatives of the civil society about the ongoing elections.
