Georgian PM Irakli Garibashvili held a meeting with European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety Stella Kyriakides via video call.
They focused on COVID-19 and the steps taken to overcome the difficulties caused by the pandemic.
Garibashvili stressed the role of the European Union in combating the socio-economic crisis caused by the pandemic.
The parties also noted that due to Georgia's intensive work with COVAX, the country has already received the first doses of the coronavirus vaccine and expects additional volumes shortly.
He stressed that intensive work continues both directly with vaccine manufacturers and with partner countries. He noted that the EU's support in this process is of great importance.
Minister of Health of Georgia Ekaterine Tikaradze and Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia attended the meeting.
