Georgian psychiatrist thinks curfew 'modification' is a must

Psychiatrist Nino Makhashvili says in her post on social media that authorities must realize that incessant pressure can compromise man's mental health, and the tight coronavirus restrictions must be eased. "Stress has become unbearable, and the "modification" of the curfew and other restrictions are mandatory; by doing so, you will not make concessions - you will just show that you care for people's psychological wellbeing," she wrote.

The government has decided to remove some restrictions earlier than planned.

The 9 p.m.-5 a.m. curfew is still effective in Georgia and is planned to remain so until 1 March.

In the event of curfew violations, natural persons are fined GEL 2,000 and up to 3-years behind bars if a law-breaking citizen reoffends.
