The third foot-soldiers brigade of the Georgian Defense Ministry is back to Georgia from Afghanistan.

Based on the Ministry’s information, Colonel Johny Tatunashvili, acting Head of the Western Commander, and Colonel Malkhaz Kalmakhelidze, the Head of the third Brigade, has met the soldiers at the Tbilisi International Airport. They thanked the soldiers for the successful completion of the mission and congratulated them with a happy return home.

According to the Ministry’s information, the Georgian peacekeepers, “Resolute Support,” served seven months at Mazar-i-Sharif base, under the German commandment in Afghanistan. The brigade’s responsibility was the control and fast response to the operations in the region. The second foot-soldiers’ brigade substituted the third brigade in their control and fast response mission.
