Legendary Georgian composer Gia Kancheli died at the age of 84.
Gia Kancheli's works include the soundtracks of well-known films and performances, like Extraordinary Exhibition, Mimino, Blue Mountains, When Almonds Bloom, Caucasian Chalk Circle, Khanuma, King Lear and etc. His most memorable sings are Yellow Leaves, He's Here, Where Are You Going, Chito Gvrito and other.
Symphonic music is also notable from the legacy of the Georgian maestro. Created in 1974, In Memoria di Michelangelo brought Kancheli the international recognition. Since 1995, the artist lived and worked in Antwerp, Belgium.
Gia Kancheli was named among the world's three greatest movie composers in August.
