"The plan will be approved today, according to which at least 60 percent of our citizens should be vaccinated in Georgia by the end of 2021," the Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia stated at today's government session.
According to him, the groups at the highest risk, including representatives of the medical field and the elderly, are being targeted.
"A working group was set up on December 15, with the participation of all stakeholders, experts, our international partners, specialists in the field, epidemiologists, doctors, the Public Defender, and today we must discuss and approve this plan. The technical part of this plan, including the step-by-step process and target groups, were of great importance. At the first stage, the staff of the medical field, the beneficiaries of the long-term care institution, our elderly over 75, and then all our fellow citizens from 60 to 75 will be vaccinated," Giorgi Gakharia stated.
