Giorgi Gakharia, Prime Minister of Georgia, opened the Machinery Department at Batumi Navy Academy. He also observed the laboratory equipped with modern appliances in which the students of the Academy will get the chance to obtain the practical experience in line with the theoretical knowledge.
The Adjara government allocated 500 thousand GEL for the Department renewal.
According to the Prime Minister, a branch of Batumi Navy Academy is planned to be opened in Poti. Giorgi Gakharia shared the project details with the Academy students. The branch will be located on the premises of Poti Hydro-melioration college, where the rehabilitation works are to start in the nearest future. The Prime Minister issued the decree to allocate resources for Poti Academy renovation works.
The Prime Minister visited Batumi Navy Academy together with Tornike Rizhvadze, the Head of Adjara Autonomous Republic and Tamar Ioseliani, Head of the Navy Transport Agency.
Giorgi Gakharia has visited Batumi stadium, where the members of non-governmental organization “Alternativa” together with the representatives of the United National Movement were holding the act of protest, chanting - “Shameful Gakharia”.
The act participants tried to approach the Prime Minister but the attempts were prevented.
