Giorgi Gakharia: This fact gives us reason to be optimistic

"Today, the increase in the number of our recovered citizens gives us the reason for cautious optimism. The number has exceeded 2 000," the Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia said at the Interagency Coordination Council meeting.

According to the head of government, the process is entirely manageable, the new clinical management model works effectively, and doctors are doing their best to manage this process smoothly while having quite a large number of infected people.

"Unfortunately, we all see that the number of infected people in the world, especially in Europe, is growing. In our country, too, the number of infected people is growing daily, although per 1 million inhabitants, compared to others, within Europe, we look more or less normal, although this is not a reason to calm down," the Prime Minister said.

As Giorgi Gakharia stated, the strategy of selective restrictions continues. He emphasized a direct connection between the wearing of masks and the need for selective restrictions.

"We all have to take into account one thing that wearing masks and distance is critically important. We need to wear them everywhere, both indoors and outdoors. The more our citizen wears masks, the less there will be a need for selective restrictions; everyone should understand this well," he said.
