Health official says Georgia to receive small batch of Pfizer vaccine

“Due to the efforts of the entire country and Health Ministry, for respect by the world institutions, Georgia will be one of the first countries among the ones like it to receive the vaccine. I know that Georgia will receive the small batch of the Pfizer vaccine,” Director General of Infectious Diseases, AIDS and Clinical Immunology Research Center Tengiz Tsertsvadze reports.

In his words, Georgia will receive the first batch at the beginning of April, while the risk groups have already been defined.

“First, health officials, elderly people, and those with accompanying diseases will receive the vaccine, and the first batch will be sufficient. The next batches will focus on vaccinating at least 60% of the population. It means steady immunity, i.e., the minimum number of new cases,’’ he says.
