"It is important that the population follows us, trusts the doctors, the headquarters, the government," said Sozar Subari, the Advisor to the Prime Minister of Georgia on Regional Management, while talking about the quarantine regime in Mestia Municipality.
According to Subari, the population needs to be tested.
"The headquarters has been set up since the very first days. These days and as long as necessary, the headquarters will work in an enhanced mode. I am going there and will be on the ground. We have quite a lot of experience after these past months. It applies to the supply of food or medicine to the population, as well as the management of situations. How to function so that the necessary or vital businesses needed for the region or the country do not stop and, at the same time, fully control the epidemic," Subari said.
According to him, the situation is complicated by the fact that there are many tourists in Mestia.
Asked by reporters how long the quarantine imposed in Mestia will last, Sozar Subari noted that the 28 days could be reduced due to the tolerance of the population.
