Minister of Health Ekaterine Tikaradze said that around 3,500 health workers registered for vaccination the very first day the AstraZeneca vaccine landed in Georgia, with 500 doctors having already taken their shots.
"Today is the first day the vaccine arrived in Georgia, and around 3,500 citizens have already registered for vaccination. Plus, about 500 doctors have been vaccinated. Georgia is not an exception, and, like other countries, it faces vaccination-related issues.
We knew all this would prove tough. I am confident that readiness and trust from the public will gradually increase. Vaccinating health workers and medical personnel constitutes an internationally accepted practice. I believe Georgia will be one of those countries in which the entire process will run smoothly," the minister declared.
