Deputy Health Minister of Georgia Tamar Gabunia said that hospitals have 800 beds capacity for coronavirus patients in Georgia.
In Tamar Gabunia's words, pressure on hospitals from the surge in COVID-19 patients has peaked, with 82% of hospital beds being full (3600 beds out of 4400), more than 5,000 patients provided with intensive care, and 90 being in resuscitation units connected to ventilators.
COVID hotels in Tbilisi, Batumi, and Kutaisi are also struggling to cope with the demands of COVID.
Georgia recorded 1,310 new cases of the novel virus in a single day. A total of 31,911 citizens have so far taken vaccine shots.
