The Prime Minister has nominated Zurab Azarashvili as the Deputy Minister of Health.
Zurab Azarashvili holds the position of Deputy Defense Minister.
"Mr. Zura is a Master of Business Administration. He has a lot of experience in financial management. We saw it when I was the Minister of Defense. Mr. Zura was then the head of Delta as well as Tbilisi Aircraft Manufacturing. Under his direct leadership, a number of important projects have been implemented, such as the restoration of Georgian aviation, numerous other projects related to the strengthening of our defense forces and military industry. Mr. Zura is a very decent, educated person," Irakli Gharibashvili said at a briefing at the government administration.
He thanked Irakli Gharibashvili for his trust:
"Thank you, Prime Minister, for the great trust you have shown in me.
"It is a great responsibility for me to run a ministry full of great challenges, but I am confident that with your support and the support of the government team, we will be able to achieve tangible and significant success in the short term," said Zurab Azarashvili.
The future Minister of Health previously held various positions at TERABANK, Kor Standard Bank, and Cartu Bank. He was the General Director of Tbilisi Aircraft Manufacturing and the head of Delta.
The Minister of Health of Georgia resigned on December 9.
Ekaterine Tikaradze remains acting Minister until the appointment of a new Minister.
