Media holding "Imedi" is for sale. Georgian Media Production Group has already addressed the Communications Commission regarding the issue.
The commission discussed the issue at today's meeting and gave its consent to the company "Media Production Group."
Media Production Group owns 100% of Imedi, GDS, and Radio Imedi. Media Holding also owns a stake in Maestro TV.
The Netherlands-based company Media Finance Group, owned by US citizens, will buy Media Holding. According to unconfirmed information, Irakli (Otar) Rukhadze, the Chairperson of the Supervisory Board of Imedi TV, is buying 5% of the holding.
Imedi TV was returned to the family of businessman Badri Patarkatsishvili after a change of government in 2012.
