Imnadze says coronavirus 'has not disappeared'

The new coronavirus has not vanished anywhere; it coexists with us, according to Paata Imnadze, the Deputy Head of the National Center for Disease Control. In his words, the countries which gradually resumed economic activities have seen a sharp rise in coronavirus cases.

"Before the autumn and winter, we have the summer ahead. In China, for example, the entire province was locked down because of confirmed cases. The countries which gradually resumed economic activities have seen a dramatic increase in coronavirus cases. Luckily, we have passed through tough times without witnessing many cases. However, we have to take some crucial things into account until the coronavirus is beaten, and we come up with effective medicine: the necessity of wearing face masks, particularly, in confined spaces, the importance of social distancing, hand hygiene and the significance of avoiding social situations," Imnadze declared.
