"Internal transmission of coronavirus reported in Georgia again," Marina Ezugbaia, the medical Director of Tbilisi Infectious Diseases Hospital, stated.

According to her, an epidemiological study is underway to determine the source.

"We have five new cases, increasing the total number of infected to 973. There are only two newly recovered patients, with those who defeated the virus, reaching 846. 112 patients are still undergoing treatment. Out of the five new cases, three are truck drivers, and one is from a quarantine area. An epidemiological study will determine the source of the last new patient," Ezugbaya said.

Five new patients tested positive on coronavirus in Georgia, while two patients recovered. Information about this got published on the official website created by the government.

According to stopcov.ge, 973 people have COVID-19 in the country, of which 846 already recovered, and 15 people died.

31 Georgian citizens have been transferred from abroad for medical treatment.

There are 4 851 citizens in quarantine, with 231 under hospital supervision.
