“Our law enforcement system had a challenge investigating crimes committed by the law enforcers but we think the activation of Investigation Service will be another strong step in the criminal justice system”, Giorgi Gakharia, the Prime Minister of Georgia said.
The Head of the Government thanked ambassadors and international organizations for support, noting that Georgia has a long way to go.
“The State Inspection office is equipped with investigative functions. This is the most important step that has been taken in the justice system this year", the Prime Minister said.
The State Inspection Investigative Service will become effective from November 1 and will serve as an effective investigation into possible crimes committed by law enforcement and officials.
