Investigative Service exposes employee of Technical Inspection Center on the fact of bribery

The officers of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, as a result of operative-investigative measures, exposed the employee of the primary Technical Inspection Center of vehicles on commercial bribery, the Investigation Service reveals.

"The investigation established that the accused, to obtain a personal benefit, at one of the technical inspection centers in Imereti region, while inspecting a privately owned vehicle, despite the visual and technical damage, violated the requirements of the technical regulations approved by the Georgian government and issued a positive report on passing the technical inspection," the Investigative Service reveals.

According to the agency, the investigation is underway under Article 221, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment for a term of 2 to 4 years.
