"Big tragedy happened in this city," said the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili, who was on 26 May Street in Batumi.

"Once again, I want to express my deep sorrow. It is not easy to put into words the feeling we all have today. A great tragedy happened in this city, and the whole country suffered from it.

I once again offer my condolences to the families of the deceased; I wish them endurance and God's mercy," Irakli Gharibashvili said.

The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili, together with the Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri, paid tribute to the memory of those killed in the tragedy at the mourning wall organized near the ruins of the building.

One of the entrances of the 13th building collapsed in Batumi, on May 26 Street, on October 8, at about 12:00. As a result of the rescue operation, rescuers were able to pull ten people out of the rubble, 8 of whom were already dead, one person died at the hospital. One person is still under the supervision of doctors - Zviad Tavdgiridze is the only one who was in the building at the time of the demolition and survived. He has been removed from artificial ventilation and has positive dynamics.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has detained three people in connection with the collapse of a building in Batumi.

All three of them were sentenced to imprisonment by the Batumi City Court.
