Irakli Kobakhidze, the chairperson of the Georgian Dream, called the statement issued by the US Embassy regarding the abolition of the State Inspector's Service unfair and argued that it contained some factual inaccuracies.
"We have 30 years of successful cooperation with our partners, we often receive advice from them and, of course, we take this advice into account. There are, unfortunately, exceptional cases when we hear unfair and incorrect assessments from them, and this is an example.
Unfortunately, such statements undermine the trust of the Georgian society towards its Western partners, which is not good, and we should not allow it. It is important for us to inform the public properly. We are talking about the abolition of the service, which is wrong; in fact, a specific service was divided into two parts, the powers of this service were expanded," says Irakli Kobakhidze.
