"Levan Varshalomidze's father died of coronavirus," the third President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, spread information about Guram Varshalomidze's death.
"I was recently informed that Levan Varshalomidze's father, Guram Varshalomidze, died from coronavirus. He was the former Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Adjara, an honored, meritorious scientist, a man who was one of the first to speak out against Aslan Abashidze while working in the government of Adjara. It is a significant loss for me. It is a direct result of the policy pursued by Gakharia and Ivanishvili, who, from the very beginning, built the whole policy on falsification of statistics and double standards," Mikheil Saakashvili told TV Pirveli.
The father of Levan Varshalomidze tested positive for coronavirus on October 3. Vashalomidze is the United National Movement's Batumi majoritarian candidate.
