Maia Chkhaidze, the medical director of the Tsitsishvili New Children's Clinic, says that the clinic currently has 108 patients, of which 21 are being treated in the intensive care unit. According to her, there are four free places in the clinic.
As Maia Chkhaidze explained, "Twindemic" has already started in the country. The doctor suggests that the fifth wave will be more challenging than its predecessor waves.
"The number of referrals has increased due to other infections, as the seasonal viruses have started and Twindemic is here. The fifth wave has started because the number of cases has increased catastrophically. I think the fifth wave will be more challenging," said Maia Chkhaidze.
