An unidentified man has attempted to assault Georgia's ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili at a restaurant in Kyiv, strana.ua reports. The man armed with a handmade knife approached Saakashvili and threatened him.
Saakashvili's guards and those at the restaurant prevented the assailant from assaulting the former president and called the police. However, the man managed to flee the scene before police officers arrived at the restaurant.
The motive of the crime is unknown.
