Management protocol remains one of the best worldwide, Georgian health official says

Director of Infectious Diseases, AIDS and Clinical Immunology Research Center of Georgia, Tengiz Tsertsvadze, says that even their most vocal critics have never passed judgment on the country's management protocol.

In Tsertsvadze's words, the WHO delegation, which has arrived in Georgia and is inspecting clinics, has not so far released any negative comment on the management protocol.

''The management protocol was and remains one of the best worldwide,'' Tsertsvadze stated, adding that even under the best protocol, it is impossible not to have 60 deaths when the country has 60,000 coronavirus patients.

Georgia saw 2,176 coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours to bring the total tally to 589,727. The country recorded 2,838 recoveries and 43 deaths. Its death toll stands at 8,390.
