''If private kindergartens enjoyed popularity years ago, public kindergartens with their high quality and European standards compete with them today,'' Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said when he presented his report on social projects.
Mr. Kaladze said that he takes pride in the standards implemented in kindergartens citywide; this enabling future generations to gain education in the proper environment.
According to the Tbilisi City Hall, 11 kindergartens with uninhabitable living conditions were dismantled in 2018-2021. In the same time period, yards in 56 kindergartens were refurbished, around 20 kindergarten facades rehabilitated, and infrastructure and play areas restored in 100 more. Also, for the first time ever, two mini rugby stations were built in kindergarten areas.
