Minister of Justice: We have arguments as to why Saakashvili's personal footage was made public

The Minister of Justice Rati Bregadze explained the reasons why the Ministry of Justice is appealing against the conclusion of the State Inspector's Office. According to the Minister of Justice, the Special Penitentiary Service had and still has solid arguments why the footage of prisoner Mikheil Saakashvili was made public.

He said that the legality of this decision should ultimately be assessed not by the executive or the legislature but by the court. Therefore, the Ministry of Justice addressed the court and appealed the conclusion of the State Inspector.

"This is a legal procedure. We had a different opinion, which is substantiated, and naturally, the decision will be made by the judge," said the Minister of Justice.

Rati Bregadze explained that the disclosure of the personal life footage of prisoner Mikheil Saakashvili was absolutely legal and served the interests of law and order in the state.
