Minister: We need at least 7-day decline cycle

"The number of coronavirus cases is decreasing in Adjara, but this does not mean we should calm ourselves," the Minister of Health of Georgia Ekaterine Tikaradze said at a briefing in Batumi.

According to the Minister, to find out how controllable the situation is, at least a 7-day decreasing trend is needed.

"There are 126 new infections in Adjara at the moment; the situation is under control in the sense that epidemiologists are actively working to establish contacts. The laboratory network is also doing its job, and by the end of the day, we will have an even clearer picture of the past period, when mass testing was taking place in Batumi," Tikaradze said.

Ekaterine Tikaradze has been in Adjara for two days now and is holding meetings with the healthcare sector representatives.

One hundred seventy-nine cases of coronavirus got confirmed in Georgia today, 126 of which are related to Adjara.
