Following the premiere of "And then We Danced" film, the police detained some more protesters who did not let the audience leave the building, with this resulting in rising tensions outside the cinema.

Before and during the premiere, 11 individuals were detained.

As head of the patrol police department Vazha Siradze told journalist, the police are not leaving the area and plan to take measures against law breakers instantly.

First the demonstrators were gathered in Vera park and headed for the Amirani later. The police arranged the cordon at the entrance of the Amirani, however, the protesters attempted to push through it and enter the cinema building.

The film directed by Swedish filmmaker of Georgian origin Levan Akin has drawn threats and sparked protests in the country because it is about gay love and tells the story of Merab, a young dancer with a traditional Georgian ballet company who falls in love with fellow dancer and rival Irakli.
