In one of the maternity hospitals in Kutaisi, the mother left the newborn due to a lack of means. She told the clinic she could not keep her child and was forced to leave the baby.
She later contacted the social service and asked for help.
According to the State Care Agency, with the involvement of the guardianship and custody authority, the Family Support Service has offered all the necessary programs to ensure that mothers and children live together. There is no need to separate the child from the mother at this stage.
The mother and child are provided with a living environment with appropriate services in the mother and child shelter.
The condition of the newborn is satisfactory.
After the information was spread on the social network, the citizens launched a charity campaign to help the newborn and the mother.
