NCDC head explains how Georgia may not get third wave of COVID-19

NCDC Head Amiran Gamkrelidze says that Georgia passed the peak of new coronavirus cases in November and December, with the cases having now reduced fivefold, and the progress must be duly appreciated and maintained.

Gamkrelidze stressed that if citizens follow the recommendations, wear facemasks, and refuse to travel in crowded public transport, the third wave will not hit the country.

The government has decided to remove some restrictions earlier than planned.
