A protest rally by the members of the Change Movement is taking place near the Tbilisi City Assembly. The activists gathered to protest physical violence by lawmakers against MP Levan Khabeishvili on January 24.
Protesters attempted to stick photos of those involved in beating Khabeishvili on the walls of the City Assembly building. Police mobilized at the scene, did not allow the protesters to attach the photos.
Protesters brought a garbage can to the City Assembly, with the photos of the lawmakers involved in the incident.
Representatives of the United National Movement are also at the scene.
During a joint session of the Commission on Sport, Education, and Auditing at the Tbilisi City Assembly, the conflict between Levan Khabeishvili, the member of the National Movement, and the majority of the City Council left Khabeishvili injured.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the investigation launched under Article 126 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
