"According to today's data, the currently active cases of infection in Georgia reach 20 013," Berdia Sichinava, the Deputy Chief of Operational Staff at the Interagency Coordination Council, said at a briefing at the Government Administration.

He said 976 people are critically ill, and 375 of them are on artificial respiration.

"At this stage, the currently active cases of infection are at 20 013. Among them, 6 251 people are treated in hospitals, including 2 724 in Tbilisi hospitals, 1 020 in Adjara, and 1 219 in Imereti.

There are 976 seriously ill patients, including 447 in Tbilisi, 154 in Adjara, and -226 in Imereti.

Three hundred seventy-five people are on artificial respiration, including 201 in Tbilisi, 49 in Adjara, and 45 in Imereti," Berdia Sichinava said.

Four thousand seven hundred eighty new patients tested positive for coronavirus in Georgia, while 3 489 patients defeated the virus. Information about this got published on the official website created by the government.

According to stopcov.ge, 118 690 people have COVID-19 in the country, of which 102 270 already recovered.

1161 people died due to the virus in Georgia, 37 of them during the last 24 hours.
