According to the Public Defender of Georgia, Nino Lomjaria, activists of a specific political party, are being blackmailed by publishing personal life footage.
Lomjaria stated that the same party's representatives applied to the ombudsman's office regarding the fact mentioned above.
"Several cases have been reported to the Public Defender. Representatives of a particular political party contacted us, saying their activists have been blackmailed. These people are ready to talk about the issue publicly. We have communicated with the Ministry of Internal Affairs to help the investigation and to ensure confidentiality. Facts like this are very alarming, and we hope that all alleged victims will apply to the investigation," the ombudsman said.
