Panel of doctors release opinion on ex-leader Saakashvili's health state

The panel of doctors under Georgian ombudswoman Nino Lomjaria has issued an opinion, saying that ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili cannot be transferred to the Gldani prison from the Gori Military Hospital as he suffers a post-traumatic stress disorder and ''he must be subjected to treatment at a facility which does not evoke stressful memories.''

Neurologist Tengiz Tsuladze stressed that the ex-president's health condition is still concerning as he suffers from general weakness, anemia, depression, and PTSD.''Neurological diseases cannot frequently be cured in a day or a week and need long-term treatment,'' the doctor noted.
