Part of the Technical University students went on a hunger strike and demanded the rector's resignation.
Students say a rector with a criminal past should not run a university with a 100-year history.
The students held a rally in front of the Ministry of Education today.
"Of course, it is inadmissible for him to hold the position. This person has been convicted four times. Can you imagine a person like this running one of the largest universities in the country in the civilized world? It is unacceptable; it should be for any sane person. We, the Technical University students, are not going to stop," said one of the students.
