The Patriarchate of Georgia has released a statement amid Tbilisi protests.
''Considering the tense situation on Rustaveli Avenue, we appeal to our fellow citizens that the escalation of the situation by verbal abuse and foul language is unacceptable.
Growing the confrontation into physical abuse will prove harmful for our country.
Violence can never bring the common good. It will harm not only separate individuals but the entire country also.
We call for peace!'' the statement reads.
