"The pension will be issued from the first day of each month to the 14th day, following the relevant schedule," Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said at a government meeting.
"Elder people belong to a high-risk group. Therefore, in collaboration with the banking sector, we start paying pensions from the first to the 14th day of a month by an appropriate schedule. Every pensioner will know his schedule; no technical delays or problems will occur,'' he said.
"The main result should be the mitigation of mobility and queues. Our pensioners can receive pension not on one day, but every day, throughout Georgia, but from the first day to the 14th, consistently, calmly. We are taking into account epidemiologists' advice to prevent the spread of the virus, especially among high-risk retirees. It is another step we express our respect and care for our senior citizens," Giorgi Gakharia declared.
