As a result of complex operative-investigative actions, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs seized illegal firearms and ammunition in Tbilisi and other regions.
As report.ge was informed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 13 people have been arrested on charges of illegal purchase, storage, and carrying of firearms and ammunition.
The offenses carry a maximum sentence of 3 to 7 years in prison.
"Investigation into the illegal purchase, storage, and carrying of firearms and ammunition is underway under the 3rd and 4th parts of Article 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia," the statement said.
