Father Giorgi Skiladze who has indicted Bishop and Rector of Theological Academy Zosime for sexual harassment against his own students has forwarded a letter to the Report.ge News Agency proving that, together with like-minded people, he informed Bishop Kristepore of Margveti and Zestaponi of this fact in December 1988. The Bishop sent him a response letter.
In his letter, Bishop Kristepore gives the senders of the letter advice and warns them against considering his letter as an official response. According to the Bishop, it will be extremely painful for the Georgian people to learn that similar abominable acts take place in the academy, which is why they should meet the Patriarch of Georgia and inform him of the fact in private.
Former student of the Academy under the Georgian Orthodox Church, priest Giorgi Skhiladze, who is now residing in France, has accused Metropolitan of Tsilkani and Dusheti Zosime of sexually abusing his male students. Last week priest Giorgi published the letter, which by his saying, was written by Zosime after being subjected to the accusation.
After publicizing the letter, Giorgi Skhiladze left Georgia. As the latter said yesterday, he has been contacted by his relatives who warned him that his life is under threat. According to priest Giorgi, some fanatics are planning to eliminate him.
The investigation into the case has been launched; however, as the priest asserts, Georgian investigators have not yet contacted him, but the corresponding agencies of France have been notified of the threats received by him.
