The General Prosecutor's Office of Georgia responds to the Public Defender's statement according to which the Ombudsman's Office requests to read the criminal case materials against the member of the City Council Ilia Jishkariani.
According to the General Prosecutor's Office of Georgia, since the criminal case is being investigated, according to the law the Prosecutor's Office cannot make the case known to the representative of the Public Defender's Office until a final decision has been made.
Nino Lomjaria, the Public Defender met Tamta Todadze and her lawyer.
The Public Defender got acquainted with the details of the case with the help of the victim and her lawyer, including possible shortcomings in the investigation.
The Prosecutor General of Georgia has charged Tbilisi City Council member Ilia Jishkariani with attempted sexual harassment against his co-worker Tamta Todadze. Todadze was recognized as the affected by the General Prosecutor’s Office.
