Tensions have been high for quite some time on the Rustavi-Tbilisi road, where a rally is underway. Protesters say that around 1200 families in the Ponichala district have been left without gas supply for three days now. Rally participants want Tbilisi Energy representatives to arrive at the protest site.
Locals have reportedly blocked the road for half an hour with this resulting in clashes between them and drivers using the road.
After the interference of law enforcement officers, traffic flow on the road was restored. The police have remained on the site.
