Public transport restrictions may not stay in place forever, and I consider that bus and subway services should become available to the public sooner than others, Director of the Infectious Diseases Hospital Tengiz Tsertsvadze said.
"The second serious issue after reopening of tourism which we are now faced with is the resumption of public transport services. You know that at the first stage of lifting coronavirus-lockdown measures, traffic restrictions remained in place, and this was quite natural. However, obviously, these restrictions may not last for a very long time as for the country's reopening, the resumption of a normal pace of life, and revitalization of the economy, people should be provided with the means of movement. Not everyone has private cars, which is why the public should first be provided with bus and subway services and then minibus services. Some countries have already taken this measure; chairs may be marked and not more than one passenger may be allowed to take one seat; this will obviously result in a reduced number of passengers," Tsertsvadze said.
