The third president of Georgia, Mikhail Saakashvili, congratulated the Azerbaijani people on the Novruz-Bayram holiday.
He posed about it on his Facebook page.
"My dears, I want to congratulate you on the Novruz-Bayram holiday ... I want to wish peace and happiness to your families. I congratulate you on the holiday that many Georgia citizens celebrate with you because you are an integral part of our homeland, and we have joint victory, pain, and joy. Eleven years ago, we declared Novruz Bayram a national holiday of Georgia as a sign that we have a joint present and a shared future. It is a celebration of a new day, a new life. Congratulations to you and your families. See you in Georgia," wrote Mikhail Saakashvili.
For reference, the Novruz holiday lasts from March 20 to 24, and its peak occurs on March 21, the day of the vernal equinox.
On September 28, 2009, at the UNESCO summit, Novruz was officially included in the list of humanity's intangible cultural heritage, and in 2010 the UN General Assembly recognized it as the International Day.
