According to Representative of the United Nations Children's Fund in Georgia, Ghassan Khalil, schools must open in the country under any circumstances.
In Khalil's words, this is essential to foster children's academic success and develop their social skills.
''Considering Georgia's status quo, when around 40% of teachers are vaccinated, and when other businesses or organizations are not required to have a specific percentage of employees vaccinated to function, why do we hamper schools' proper functioning due to this percentage? Not every single child can access the internet; they cannot catch up with the learning process; the only way out of the present stalemate is to vaccinate the entire public, especially teachers,'' Khalil declared.
