According to the Democracy Research Institute, occupation forces may close the checkpoint near Perevi village (Sinaguri) in the coming days. The organization reports that Russian militants warned several locals about the changes.
“Today Perevi checkpoint is the only hope for people to move from Akhalgori to the Georgian-controlled territory if necessary. It is unknown what this news is about, but many people decided against leaving Akhalgori temporarily, fearing that they will not be able to return home,” the Democracy Research Institute stated.
